The Computational Health Informatics Group is a multidisciplinary R&D&i group in the field of new technologies applied to health. It is located at the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital (led by Carlos Luis Parra Calderón, Head of the Technological Innovation Section) and at the Virgen Macarena University Hospital (led by Alberto Moreno Conde).


The GISC collaborates with clinical groups, industry and academia, in competitive calls projects at a national and international level.


Its main lines of work are:


  • Precision Medicine and secondary use of clinical information.


  • Innovation in processes aimed at improving health results and efficient management of processes and resources.


  • Development of health informatics tools.


  • Computer-aided design and 3D printing applied to medicine.


  • mHealth.


  • Social robotics.


  • Occupational Health.


  • Economic evaluation of health technologies.


  • Innovation in health technology.


Furthermore, it is worth highlighting his participation in the development of European and international projects and working groups for the study and application of methods, infrastructures and good practices of the FAIR principles (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, Reusability) in the Health Sciences, as well as his contributions to projects for the development of the European Health Research and Innovation Cloud (HRIC).
