Histology

IN GENERAL

The only devices of the Histology service to which users have direct access are: Cryostat, Microtome and Vibratome. These are accessible from Monday to Sunday, as long as the appropriate reservation has been made.

The use of the Automatic Tissue Processor and Paraffin Dispenser is restricted to technical personnel only.

Any person wishing to access the cutting equipment must first speak to the technician in charge of the service, who is the only person in charge of training the users and authorizing the use of the equipment when they are qualified.

A maximum of 3 hours per user can be reserved. If the reserved hours are not going to be used, they must be cancelled immediately.

Please be punctual when starting to use the equipment. If the delay is more than 15 minutes or if a misuse of the equipment is detected, the person in charge of the service has the authority to cancel the reservation or, if necessary, prevent the use of the equipment.

The equipment shall not remain on during the night, unless the technician in charge is aware of it.

The user is responsible for consumables, molds, holders, cassettes, antirolling glass, blades, etc.

To ensure the proper functioning of the service, in the event of repeated non-compliance with any of these rules, the person responsible for the service will be obliged to inform the respective IR. If the misuse persists, the center management will be informed.
