Biomedical Research Support Service (SAIBIS)

The IBiS, being immersed in a hospital complex, acquires the commitment to act as a promoter of the basic and clinical research carried out there. The philosophy of this unique Unit is born, as its name suggests, to support the clinical groups and researchers of the HUVR by providing the knowledge and technologies existing in the IBiS and putting them at the service of the various researchers, who due to their characteristics do not have experimental laboratory space.

The unit provides support to the research groups attached to the HUVR and other hospitals, private entities and researchers from IBiS itself, with a total of approximately 40 groups working directly in the Unit, from the different areas listed below:

• Infectious diseases and the immune system.
• Neurosciences
• Oncohematology and Genetics
• Cardiovascular and Respiratory Pathology/Other Systemic Pathologies
• Liver, Digestive and Inflammatory Diseases

(*) Those experiments that require time out of the established schedule can be carried out with the previous knowledge of the Responsible Technician.
