The HUVR-IBiS Biobank belongs to the National Network of Biobanks since January 2010 and is integrated, since January 2014, into the Biobank Platform to support research in health sciences and technology of the Strategic Action in Health 2013 -2016, 2017-2020 and ISCIII Platform for Biobanks and Biomodels PT20/00069 from 2020 to 2023. At the local level, thanks to its link with the Institute of Biomedicine of Seville (IBiS), it is in a privileged situation to respond to the increasing demand for biological samples from researchers.
It should also be noted that the Biobank carries out sample management in several national projects and collaborations (through the National Biobank Network platform) or international ones, such as the EuroEwing or Umbrella projects/clinical trials (SIOP-RTSG 2016).
The Biobank has a wide and versatile portfolio of services, adjustable to the needs of each researcher. This portfolio goes beyond the provision of samples in the strict sense and is currently based on five pillars: provision, processing, preservation and custody of samples, advice and training. As part of a networked Biobank, there is a platform of resources organized to be able to offer samples and associated data in the format that the research staff specifies, as well as document management, processing, preservation and advice to the researcher for custody, collection and processing. of required samples.
